Malcolm was educated in the Dresden schools, Kennebec School of Commerce and Gates Business College. After graduating from Gates he was employed by the State of Maine, Bureau of Taxation, and Audit Division for 33 years. He retired as a District Supervisor for the Central Maine Area. Retirement included wintering in Zephyrhills, Florida. Among other activities, Malcolm was an avid golfer and a member at Cobbossee Colony Golf Club for many years. He was also a member at Betma Golf Club in Zephyrhills, Florida. The highlights of his golfing game were two holes in one. During his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as snowmobiling with his family and friends. Malcolm was a World War II veteran serving in the European Theatre of Operations with the 3rd Army. Malcolm was a long-time member of the United Randolph Methodist Church. He served as church treasurer for ten years, also serving on many other committees and board of trustees. He was preceded by a son, Malcolm Jr. (Mark). He is survived by his faithful, devoted and loving wife, Priscilla, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. During the marriage, Priscilla was a companion, friend and loving wife, for which he was forever grateful. His son, Miles Bailey, of Gardiner, his grandson, Jared Bailey, of West Gardiner and sister, Yvonne, and her husband, Gene Reed, of Dresden. A burial, with military honors, will be held at The Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements have been made by Staples Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Randolph Methodist Church. (Staples Funeral Home and Central Maine Newspapers 7/14/2015)
