Description	:	Mrs. George Feckers, nee Lena Behrends, was born at Aplington, Iowa on the 30 day of April 1892, and passed out of this life into eternity, November 11, 1941, at her home in the vicinity of New Hartford, Iowa. She attained an age of 48 years, 7 months and 11 days. In the year 1910 she was United in marriage to George Fekkers. This Union was blessed with 10 children, two of whom a son and a daughter, proceeded their mother in death. Since she was married she always lived in the vicinity of New Hartford. Read More	Mrs. George Feckers, nee Lena Behrends, was born at Aplington, Iowa on the 30 day of April 1892, and passed out of this life into eternity, November 11, 1941, at her home in the vicinity of New Hartford, Iowa. She attained an age of 48 years, 7 months and 11 days. In the year 1910 she was United in marriage to George Fekkers. This Union was blessed with 10 children, two of whom a son and a daughter, proceeded their mother in death. Since she was married she always lived in the vicinity of New Hartford. For about 6 years she suffered from spleen trouble. She took a number of treatments for her ailment when she had attacks at the state hospital at Iowa City, Iowa, but the last attack proved fatal and caused her demise. Just a month before her departure according to her testimony, she was saved through the well-known verse of holy scripture, John 3:16. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, her eight living children, namely, Claus of Parkersburg, Mrs. Margaret Smith of Waterloo, Mrs. Grace Gersma of Shell Rock, Lena of Waterloo, Marie, Freddie, Richard and Willie at home. Besides, she leaves her aged mother, Mrs. Claus Behrens of Aplington; five brothers, Henry and Claus of Grundy Center, Peter and Frank of Aplington, and Richard of Bristow; three sisters, Mrs. Grace Vanderwerf of Aplington, Mrs. Margaret of Bristow and Mrs. Fanny Seibenga of Allison; and other relatives and friends. Her father, Klaas Behrends, and two brothers also proceeded her in death. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon December 14, at 1:00 at the home and later at Hitesville with Oliver Smith in charge. Burial was made in the Hyattsville cemetery.
