Description	:	SIGOURNEY - Maline Schreyer, wife of L. O. Nauman, died at her home in Sigourney Friday evening between six and seven o'clock. The entire community was shocked by this sad and unexpected news. Last Tuesday morning Mrs. Nauman underwent a surgical operation which she stood well and great hopes were entertained by all her friehnds for a speedy recovery. Page 5 ______________________________________________________________ Another obituary posted by Bernice Knoke on Ancestry.com: Malina (misspelled Schreyner) was born in Clear Creek Township, Keokuk County, Iowa June 19, 1872. She lost her mother in childhood and was raised to maturity by her aunt Barbara Goeldner. On Dec 3, 1891, she united in marriage to L.O. Nauman. To this union were born two children, Fridea and Earnest. She died on December 17, 1909. In the midst of her usefulness when the sun of her destiny had scarcely reached noon hour, leaving two fond brothers, two loving children, her devoted husband and a host of warm friends to mourn the loss. Mrs. Nauman was a lady, kind, loving and generous. In case of sickness and death she always offered her assistance. She realized she had been left mother-less and helpless when a child and was lovingly cared for by others, and was always willing to help others, left in like circumstances. She was a good and true wife and a kind and affectionate mother. The funeral was conducted at the family residence in Sigourney, Iowa, December 20th, 1909, H.F. Wagner, her friend and near neighbor, gave a short address both at the house and at the grave, and told of the life of this good woman as he had known it, and extended words of sympathy to the relatives and friends. This good woman has passed beyond the need of those kindly benefactions we owe each other in life, yet she still holds a place in our memory and we will extend sympathy and continued benefactions to the mother-less children and devoted husband whom she has left to mourn her loss.
