Description	:	Mrs. Olaf (Mollie) Bye was born Feb. 19, 1898 in Garfield Township, the daughter of the late Erick Gilbertson and Karen Viker. She was baptized and confirmed her faith in the St. John Lutheran Church at Hatton. She attended rural school in Garfield Township #3 and grew to womanhood in the Hatton community. She was united in Holy Wedlock to Olaf Bye on May 8, 1922 at Moorhead, Minnesota. After their marriage the couple made their home in Hatton and farmed in Garfield Township. He died on Dec. 21, 1968. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church... Read More	Mrs. Olaf (Mollie) Bye was born Feb. 19, 1898 in Garfield Township, the daughter of the late Erick Gilbertson and Karen Viker. She was baptized and confirmed her faith in the St. John Lutheran Church at Hatton. She attended rural school in Garfield Township #3 and grew to womanhood in the Hatton community. She was united in Holy Wedlock to Olaf Bye on May 8, 1922 at Moorhead, Minnesota. After their marriage the couple made their home in Hatton and farmed in Garfield Township. He died on Dec. 21, 1968. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church and it's A.L.C.W. She entered into rest on July 7, 1980 at the Union Hospital at Mayville, N.D. She is survived by two sons, Glen E. Bye of Hatton, Gail Bye also of Hatton, eight grandchildren, two brothers, Gilbert of Mayville and Elmer of San Haven, N.D., and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Buff of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Earl (Alice) Aasen of Mayville. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mardel and by one sister, Mrs. Vincent (Elma) Champeaux. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. John Lutheran Church, Hatton, with Pastor Reuben Jacobson officiating. The organist was Mrs. Fred Nelson. The soloist was Lawrence Westrum, and his two selections were 'God Understands' and 'Precious Lord, Take My Hand.' Honorary pallbearers were Our Neighbors and Friends. The casket bearers were Michael Bye, Steven Bye, David Bye, Leslie Bye, Thomas Bye, Richard Bye, Craig Bye and Clemence Bachmeier. Her step mother was Clara Christianson. The interment was in the St. John Cemetery. The Arnett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. – Hatton Free Press, July 17, 1980
