Malon was born November 3, 1903, to Clarence and Maude (Cleveland) Granger, 4 1/2 miles Northwest of Comstock. He later moved with his parents to the Wescott area and then back to the Longwood community. He attended Longwood school and graduated from the 10th grade. After school, he farmed with his dad He loved music and started playing the drums at the age of 17 he played for dances with family members at first, then with other bands in the area for over 60 years. Malon married Dorothy Plock on the 18th day of December, 1942 in St. Paul, Nebraska They farmed and raised their family in the Comstock-Sargent area. Besides music, Malon enjoyed visiting with friends, neighbors and relatives and was always ready to help out whenever needed. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, of Comstock; sons and daughters in-law, William and Linda of Sargent; James an d Marie of Merna; Charles and Sheila of Grand Island; and daughter, Sandra of Comstock; seven grandchildren; sister, May Voss of Fremont; and nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister
