Description	:	Unity – Mamie (Izora) Clifford, 84, a resident here for 49 years, died unexpectedly at a Waterville hospital Friday night, October 25, 1974. She was born in Unity Plantation February 24, 1890, daughter of Joseph and Mamie (Decker) Grant. Her husband, Bert, died in 1961. Read More	Unity – Mamie (Izora) Clifford, 84, a resident here for 49 years, died unexpectedly at a Waterville hospital Friday night, October 25, 1974. She was born in Unity Plantation February 24, 1890, daughter of Joseph and Mamie (Decker) Grant. Her husband, Bert, died in 1961. She was an active member and past Nobel Grand of the Favori Rebekah Lodge of Unity for 60 years, a Merit Mother and honorary member of the State Mothers Committee, Past Matron of Antioch Chapter of Unity, a member of the Seven Star Grange in Troy, Pomona State Grange, Benjamin Berry American Legion Auxiliary of Unity, the United Methodist Women and the Happy Hour Club if the Methodist Church where she was a communion stewardess. She was a Gray Lady at the Veterans Hospital, Togus, during World War II. She was active in the Unity Red Cross Chapter and Heart Fund as well as in civil defense. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Clarendon (Sylvia) West of Kittery, Mrs. Chester (Marguerite) Basford of Benton, and Mrs. Philip (Arlene) Russakoff of Skowhegan; a son Bert G. Clifford of Unity; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Hazel) Thomas of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Stanley (Vera) Cain of Seal Beach, Calif; a brother, Theodore Grant of Seal Beach; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Unity Union Church. Interment will be in Pont Cemetery, Unity. (Published in the Waterville Morning Sentinel)
