Description	:	WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mrs. Mamie Tilley Shelton, 88, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Stokes County to Bud and Florida Nelson Tilley. She retired from Northern Hospital of Surry County, where she was a nursing assistant and continued to do home care for as long as she was able. She was a member of Francisco Presbyterian Church. Read More	WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mrs. Mamie Tilley Shelton, 88, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Stokes County to Bud and Florida Nelson Tilley. She retired from Northern Hospital of Surry County, where she was a nursing assistant and continued to do home care for as long as she was able. She was a member of Francisco Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Janice L. Beamer and husband Bob of Westfield; a granddaughter: Crystal Wood and husband Randy of Walnut Cove; two precious great-grandchildren: Ashley Brooke Wood and Hannah Elizabeth Wood; two sisters: Eleanor Hart of Naples, FL and Edith Martin of Pinnacle; and a brother: Frank Tilley and wife Shirley of Rural Hall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her husband, James Nathan Shelton; four brothers: Moir, Clarence, Lloyd and James Tilley; and four sisters: Nannie Boles, Margaret Shifflettee, Avalene Tilley and Rachel Mayer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at Francisco Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Charles Howell officiating and Brother Don Collins assisting. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Francisco Presbyterian Church, c/o Betty Wright, 1040 Wright Farm Road, Westfield, NC 27053. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening, Feb. 20, 2002, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mrs. Shelton in Westfield. The Shelton family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home, Pilot Mountain.
