Mamie M. Coover was born April 20, 1865, at Shipenburg, Cumberland county, Pennsylvania. When three years old she came with her parents to Poney, Illinois and at the age of 13, she came to McCune and later to Cherokee. She was married March 2, 1887, to H. Logan. Logan died at her home in Cherokee on Wednesday morning, April 10th, at the age of 46 years, 11 months and 20 days. Mamie M. Coover was born April 20, 1865, at Shipenburg, Cumberland county, Pennsylvania. When three years old she came with her parents to Poney, Illinois and at the age of 13, she came to McCune and later to Cherokee. She was married March 2, 1887, to H. Logan. To this union five children were born, four of whom, survive her. In 1897 she united with the M.E. church and has lived a Christian life, many times testifying to her faith in God. For many years she has been a constant sufferer and for the last four years has been greatly afflicted. In her closing days of life, only a short time before her death, she told her friends she was ready to meet God. She has gone to her reward and our loss is Heaven's gain. She leaves to mourn her two sons, two daughters, a husband, an aged mother, a brother and her sister. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist church by Rev. Lawellin, after which interment was made in the Cherokee cemetery. Mrs. Logan was a good mother, a Christian woman, and her influence will be missed. She had been a great sufferer, but her faith was in her God and she never complained. Saturday she had a paralytic stroke and there was no hope held out to the family that she would ever recover.
