Description	:	Col. Maner Jenkins A gallant Confederate soldier was laid to rest in Philo's cemetery last Wednesday. Colonel Maner Jenkins was born at Beaufort, S. C., May 7, 1843, and served in a Georgia regiment during the war. He came to Piedmont in 1865 and worked at his trade. He was a carpenter. He was town sergeant of Piedmont many years. The Pallbearers were: O.H. Forsythe Harrison, August Schell, J. Forsythe Harrison, August Echell, J. William Davis and Richard Love. The Rev. B. H. Viser, pastor of the Ashfield street Presbyterian Church, officiated at the funeral which was in charge of the... Read More	Col.
