Description	:	Marcelene B. Darling April 1, 1919 ~ March 8, 2012 Marcelene passed away peacefully in her sleep, in her room at East Wenatchee Bonaventure, under the care of Hospice. Marcie, as she was usually called by family and friends, was born at Akron, CO to Mayble and Glade Wiley, the second of five children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Darling; sister, Geraldine Peterson; and brother, Galen Wiley. Marcie, as she was usually called by family and friends, was born at Akron, CO to Mayble and Glade Wiley, the second of five children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Darling; sister, Geraldine Peterson; and brother, Galen Wiley. Surviving is her sister, Donna Woods of Ocean Shores; and brother, Robert of Wenatchee. Marcie graduated high school as Valedictorian of her class at Princeton, MO. She attended NW Missouri State University at Maryville, MO, securing a degree in Home Economics. She taught Home Economics at Preston, IA. Her family had moved to Omak, WA and she followed, teaching at Tonasket and Omak. In 1948, she joined WSU as faculty with Washington State Cooperative Extension Service as a Home Agent in Kitsap County, working with homemakers and 4-H leaders. There, she met and married the love of her life, Harold Darling, on April 13, 1952. After 15 years, they moved to Olympia, where she continued her work with homemakers and 4-H, retiring in 1978. Marcie never gave up her love of teaching and after retirement, continued volunteer work with youth and other groups. She was able to take up her major hobby, painting, taking many painting classes and enjoying her association with other painters. Marcie and Hal enjoyed a full and productive life. She and her husband's ashes will be placed in the Omak Memorial Urn Garden at Omak. No Services are planned at this time. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
