Visitation will resume... Read More	Marcella "Sally" Promes, age 88 of Wynot, Nebraska died on Friday, February 05, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Hartington, Nebraska surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Holy Family (Sacred Heart) Catholic Church in Wynot, Nebraska, with Reverend Eric Olsen officiating. Burial will be in Sts. Philip and James cemetery in St. James, NE. Visitation is from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Holy Family (Sacred Heart) Catholic Church in Wynot with a vigil service at 3:00 PM. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, Nebraska. Pallbearers will be Cody Christensen, Reggie Hochstein, Justin Kathol, Garrett Fischer, Jesse Keiser, Jed Lewis, Jeremy Promes, Joe Promes, Jake Promes, and Zack Kathol. Marcella Christine Promes was born on February 18, 1927 in Hartington, NE to John and Wilhelmina (Wieseler) Feilmeier. She grew up in Hartington and went to Holy Trinity until the 8th grade. Sally helped raise her 13 brothers and sisters after her mother died. She married Jerome Promes on January 20, 1948 in Hartington. Sally and Jerome raised a family of 16 children. Sally loved babies, children, sewing, crocheting, canning, baking and her family. She and Jerome ran the Fish Fry at the Chief Bar for over 20 years with Orville and Shirley Sudbeck. She was a ray of sunshine to the residents at the nursing home for over eight years. Sally was a member of Sts. Philip & James Catholic Church in St. James, Holy Family Parish, the Wynot American Legion Auxiliary, the Altar Society, Christian Mothers, and the Ladies Aide. Sally is survived by her husband Jerome of Wynot; 16 children and spouses.
