Description	:	Marcella E. Erdmann, 92, of Garner died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 12th at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Fr. Jim Dubert officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Tuesday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., in Garner with a rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by a Scriptural wake service. Marcella Eleanor Erdmann, the daughter of Charles and Lena (Chizek) Nedved, was born June 25, 1924 on a farm northeast of Duncan. She attended the rural schools of Garfield Township, Hancock County. On August 25, 1943, she was married to Earl Erdmann at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. They lived in Washington, D.C. while Earl was employed in the clerical department of the FBI. In 1953, they moved to a farm southwest of Garner where they raised their family. After her children were grown, she worked at Winnebago Industries in Forest City until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, canning and gardening. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Rosary Society. Marcella is survived by her seven children, Marcia (Gaylord) Alger of Ankeny, Janet (Henry) Meyering of Garner, Bill Erdmann of Bemidji, MN, Tom (Julie) Erdmann of Elkhorn, WI, Chuck Erdmann of Garner, Jim (Chris) Erdmann of Lexington, TN and Nancy Erdmann of Knoxville, IA; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; grandson, T.J. Erdmann; an infant granddaughter, Amber Cayler; four great grandchildren; a sister, Lula Trca; and brothers, Henry, George, Charlie Jr. and Rudy Nedved.
