She lived in Crescent City, California where they owned Millers Fountain News before returning to Columbus in 1958. Gus died December 20, 1967. She later married Louis Briggs on February 15, 1969 at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. He died May 21, 2000. Marcella managed the Montgomery Ward shoe department until her retirement.
