Description	:	Marcella Bergeson, 96 of Cresco, Iowa passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa. Marcella was born on October 24, 1919 in Fayette County, Iowa to Halvor and Bertha (Erickson) Hegland. She was baptized and confirmed at Stavanger Lutheran Church by Rev. K. R. Kvamme. She married Floyd Bergeson on October 27, 1937 at the Eldorado Lutheran Church by Rev. K. R. Kvamme. Marcella and Floyd were blessed with one daughter and one son. Read More	Marcella Bergeson, 96 of Cresco, Iowa passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa. Marcella was born on October 24, 1919 in Fayette County, Iowa to Halvor and Bertha (Erickson) Hegland. She was baptized and confirmed at Stavanger Lutheran Church by Rev. K. R. Kvamme. She married Floyd Bergeson on October 27, 1937 at the Eldorado Lutheran Church by Rev. K. R. Kvamme. Marcella and Floyd were blessed with one daughter and one son. In her early years, Marcella worked as a telephone operator and then later worked as a cook at Valley Community Schools. She dedicated many hours volunteering her time at local hospitals and nursing homes and was always there to lend a ride to friends in need. Marcella loved playing cards and Scrabble. She had a great sense of humor. When asked how she was doing she would reply, "I'm Finer Than Frog Hair". She and Floyd spent numerous summers and weekends at their trailer in Harpers Ferry. They enjoyed fishing and especially loved it when they could take their grandchildren with them. Marcella also had a very strong faith in God. She passed this on to her family. Each grandchild received a biblical handmade quilt for confirmation. Every birthday card was signed "God Loves You and So Do I". She is survived by a daughter Bonita (Don) Neubauer of Cresco, Iowa, a son Larry (Jan) Bergeson of Montezuma, Iowa, 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Oberlin, Harris, and Adrian Hegland,three sisters, Lois Halverson, Agnes Eide, and Myrna Sherman, a son-in-law Eugene Butikofer, and two grandsons, Todd Neubauer and Bill Gosch.
