Marcella married Jack Wagner on March 1, 1938 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt, Iowa. Marcella and Jack are the parents of Helen, Kay & Joanne. ∼Marcella Wagner, 87, DeWitt, Iowa, died Thursday morning, March 31, 2005 at United Manor, DeWitt. She was born July 2, 1917 in DeWitt to Edward J. and Hazel Mae (Butterfield) McManus. On March 1, 1938 she was united in marriage to Jack Wagner at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. Jack and Marcella farmed in the Calamus area, and he preceded Marcella in death April 27, 1984. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Bunko Club. Survivors include three daughters, Helen (Mrs. Russell) Edwards, LeClaire, Iowa; Kathryn Ann (Mrs. Robert) McCaulley, Phoenix, Arizona, and Joanne Wagner, West Bend, Wisconsin; two sisters, Esther Hovey, DeWitt, and Sister Margaret Ann McManus, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a brother, Eugene McManus, DeWitt; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceding Marcella in death in addition to her husband, Jack, were her parents and two brothers, Paul and Bob. Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2005. Rosary 2 p.m. and Parish Vigil Service 5 p.m. Funeral Liturgy 10:30 Monday, April 4, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. The Rev. Fr. David Brownfield officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound. Pallbearers will be Scott Edwards, David Witte, Jr., Joel Swanson, Kyle Swanson, Joel Edwards and Nicolas Edwards. (Source: Schultz Funeral Home)
