Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Schueller officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Centralia, Iowa. Schueller, 88, of Dubuque died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at home after a short illness. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Schueller officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Centralia, Iowa. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the church, where there will be a parish wake service at 4 p.m. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the church. The Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements. She was born on Jan. 13, 1920, in Balltown, Iowa, daughter of Louis Barbara (Link) Cummer. She attended St. Francis School, Balltown. She married Norbert Schueller on Sept. 24, 1940, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Balltown; he preceded her in death on May 29, 1972. Marcella worked at Younkers Department Store for 34 years, retiring in January 2008. She was a member of St. John's Altar & Rosary Society and bowled in the Koffee Kup (Tuesday morning league) and the Get Aways (Friday morning league) at Creslanes. Marcella spent many hours visiting shut-ins, and friends and relatives in nursing homes. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at many family get-togethers. Surviving are six sons, Ron (Pat), of Cuba City, Wis., Jerry (Elaine), of Dubuque, Jim (Barb), of Sherrill, Dave (Donna) and Rog (Lois), both of Peosta, and Bill (Connie), of Farley; 21 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Myrtle (Vic) Leibfried and Lucille (Robert) Brimeyer, of Dubuque, and Evelyn (Jack) Specht, of Sherrill; two brothers, Bill (Marge) Cummer, of Sherrill, and Leon Cummer, of Balltown; brothers-in-law, Cyril Habel and Eldon (Eleanor) Schueller, both of Dubuque; sisters-in-law, Honey Cummer, Millie Meyer and Irene Schueller, all of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Lorene (Arnold) Gansemer, Marie (Donald) Hannan, Dorothy (John) Markham and Florence Habel; a brother, Norbert Cummer; sisters-in-law, Lucille (Norbert) Rolwes and Marie (Emmett) Cummer; and brothers-in-law, Glenn Stoffel, Fritz Schueller, George Schueller and Melvin Meyer.
