She was born April 16, 1922, to Carl and Edith Knowler Tanner in Keokuk County. She attended South Honey Grove School and graduated from Delta High School. She married Clarence Leathers on June 6 1939, at Lancaster, Mo., and they farmed southeast of Delta. He died on Aug. 29, 1969. She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Weeks; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; her mother, Edith Tanner; and a sister, Martha Jean Lisk. She was preceded in death by her husband and her father. Services were held Mar. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Delta United Methodist Church, the Rev. Vincent Homan officiaing.
