Marcene was born on June 17, 1929 in Beason, Illinois to the late Edwin and Katherine (McCoy) Roos. She was a graduate of Chrisney High School and an active member of St. Martin Catholic Church serving in many capacities. Marcene retired from General Electric, loved being a homemaker, especially being involved with her grandchildren’s activities. She also enjoyed golfing and bowling. White Hospice of Evansville, Indiana. Marcene was born on June 17, 1929 in Beason, Illinois to the late Edwin and Katherine (McCoy) Roos. She was a graduate of Chrisney High School and an active member of St. Martin Catholic Church serving in many capacities. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Claude Jacob Roos, Beverly Beckner, and Joy Huebschman. Marcene is survived by her husband of nearly 72 years, Jim Meyer of Chrisney, IN; Son, David Meyer and his wife, Maureen of Evansville, IN; Grandchildren, Christopher David Meyer and his wife, Katherine; Leslie Michelle Meyer; Great-grandchildren, Callan and Zachary Meyer; Brother, Duane Edward Roos of Lamar, IN. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, May 9, 2020 at St. Martin Catholic Cemetery in Chrisney, Indiana with Father Ron Kreilein officiating. Visitation is from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, May 8, 2020 at Boultinghouse Funeral Home Youngblood Chapel at 36 E. Market St. Chrisney, IN 47611. A prayer service will be held at 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Published in Courier Press May 7 to May 8, 2020.
