Description	:	Marcia Wilhemina Gewecke, 78 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Marcia was born August 27, 1930 at Hildreth, Nebraska, the third of five children of Enoch C. and Wilhemina "Minnie" F. (Albers) Wittfoth. Marcia was born August 27, 1930 at Hildreth, Nebraska, the third of five children of Enoch C. and Wilhemina "Minnie" F. (Albers) Wittfoth. She Marcia was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith south of Hildreth. She received her primary education in a rural school near Hildreth, and then graduated from Hildreth High School with the class of 1948. Following her education, Marcia was employed by Bethphage Mission in Axtell, Nebraska and later worked for Phelps County Social Services Office in Holdrege and the Regal Steakhouse. On April 20, 1962 she was united in marriage to Wilbur R. Gewecke at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege by the Reverend Orlando Lee. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Marcia focused on caring for her children. After she raised her family, Marcia was employed by the State of Nebraska in the Probation Office in Holdrege, where she retired following 23 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was active as the Director of the Youth Choir for several years. Marcia was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Concordia Chapter #97, where she served as Past Worthy Matron twice, was District Supervisor of the Grand Chapter for four years, and held all offices in the local Chapter throughout the years, and was currently serving as the Electa. She was also a member of the B.P.O. Does Drove #161 in Holdrege and held numerous offices, member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #66 and past member of the Holdrege Lioness Club. Marcia loved music, dancing, enjoyed volunteer work, especially in Mission work in Old Mexico, fishing, hunting and most of all spending time with her family. Marcia was preceded in death by: parents; grandson, Paul, and sister, Lucille. Interment was in in the Bainbridge Cemetery, Harlan County, Nebraska with Order of Eastern Star Rites.
