Mrs. Harnish was born on December 17, 1919 in Wells County to Howard & Lola (Smeltzer) Highlen. She was a graduate of Rockcreek High School. On December 29, 1937 she married Frederick P. Mrs. Harnish was born on December 17, 1919 in Wells County to Howard & Lola (Smeltzer) Highlen. She was a graduate of Rockcreek High School. On December 29, 1937 she married Frederick P. Harnish in Uniondale. They were married for 52 years before he preceded her in death on March 5, 1989. A homemaker, Mrs. Harnish worked with her husband on the family farm. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wells County Women's Society and a card club. Mrs. Harnish is survived by a daughter Mrs. Gloria (Don) Reeves of Bluffton, a daughter-in-law Hester Harnish of Fort Wayne, along with 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son Galen L. Harnish on December 31, 2010 and a brother Robert Dean Highlen. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Funeral Services for Mrs. Harnish are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011, in the funeral home with calling for 1 hour prior to the service. Pastor Bud Abrams will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorial may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
