Read More	Marcus Neppl September 11, 1920 - April 15, 2009 Wall Lake, Iowa Marcus Neppl, 88, of Wall Lake, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake. Marcus Anthony Neppl was born on September 11, 1920, in Estherville, IA, the son of Joseph S. and Anna T. (Bachman) Neppl. He grew up in Wall Lake and graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1938. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Radioman First Class from July 14, 1942 until February 19, 1946. He found the love of his life in Mary Jane Powers, and they were wed on May 18, 1946, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Vail, IA. This union was blessed with eight children: Joseph, Larry, Mike, Dan, Suzanne, Elaine, Donna and Lauri. Marcus supported his family by working at the Neppl Hatchery and Produce from 1946-1963. He was also Postmaster for 20 yrs before his retirement in 1982. The Neppls were active members of St. Joseph's Catholic church in Wall Lake. His personal hobbies included woodworking, bowling, whistling, and dancing with Mary Jane. He was a fireman in Wall Lake and a member of the Wall Lake Legion having served as commander at one time. He loved to play the harmonica and had a special place in his heart for the St. Louis Cardinals. His most treasured memories were those of his family vacations. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Joseph (Vicki) Neppl of Wall Lake, IA, Larry (Jean) Neppl of Wall Lake, Mike (JoAnn) Neppl of Humboldt, IA, Dan (Rose) Neppl of Erie, CO, Suzanne (Bob) Guthrie of Columbia, MO, Elaine Neppl of Papillion, NE, Donna (Bill) Cooper of Eldridge, IA, Lauri (Jeff) Niehaus of Sac City, IA; sisters: Marcella Cook, Alma Bluml, and Lillian (Gus) Schroeder all of Wall Lake, 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane in 2006, and his parents Joseph and Anna.
