Description	:	The Hooper Sentinel July 24, 1941 Swaburg Woman Called by Death Mrs. Peter Johnson Mrs. Peter Johnson, pioneer settler of the Swaburg neighborhood, passed away shortly before three o'clock Monday afternoon, July 21, at her home here following a lingering illness which had kept her bedfast for more than a year. For the past thee years she had been cared for by her oldest daughter, Mrs. Elmer Lantefield and family, with whom she resided. Read More	The Hooper Sentinel July 24, 1941 Swaburg Woman Called by Death Mrs. Peter Johnson Mrs. Peter Johnson, pioneer settler of the Swaburg neighborhood, passed away shortly before three o'clock Monday afternoon, July 21, at her home here following a lingering illness which had kept her bedfast for more than a year. For the past thee years she had been cared for by her oldest daughter, Mrs. Elmer Lantefield and family, with whom she resided. The deceased, who was Maren Kistine Larsen, was born in Denmark on November 29, 1863, and had attained the age of 77 years, 7 months and 22 days. She emigrated to America in 1879 at the age of 16 years. In 1887 she was united in marriage to Peter Johnson, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary four years ago. As a pioneer wife and mother, Mrs. Johnson identified herself as a citizen interested and active in the welfare of her community and during her many years residence here she became widely known. Mourning her passing is her 91 year old husband, three sons, George P. Johnson of Fremont, Dr. Lars Johnson of Oakland and Hans Johnson, with the national guard at Camp Robinson, Little Rock, Ark, and four daughters, Mrs. Elmer Lantefield of Swaburg, Mrs. Truman Sampson and Mrs. Harold Ehninger of Omaha, and Mrs. Albert Bring of Rosalie. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and three great-grand children and by two sisters, Mrs. Nels Hansen and Mrs. Petersen in Omaha. One son, Nels, a World War veteran, and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Bring, preceded her in death. Services well be held this Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock from the Elim Lutheran church at Swaburg, Rev. W. W. Alexander of the Grace Lutheran church of Hooper will be in charge. Internment will be in the church cemetery.hhw
