Description	:	In the (July 10) 1860 US Census record, Margaret's parents state she is 3 years old (born in 1857) and her younger sister, Mary, is 1 year. WV birth record states that Mary was born on Nov. 20, 1858. In the (July 16)1870 US Census Record, Margaret's parents state she is 13 years old (born in 1857). In the 1880 Census she is living with her mother, father and siblings and listed as 20 years old (born in 1860) when she was in fact 23 years old. Getting a little old to become a bride. WV birth record states that Mary was born on Nov. 20, 1858. In the (July 16)1870 US Census Record, Margaret's parents state she is 13 years old (born in 1857). In the 1880 Census she is living with her mother, father and siblings and listed as 20 years old (born in 1860) when she was in fact 23 years old. Getting a little old to become a bride. In the 1900 US Census Record, Margaret is now living in Cincinnati, single, in the home of Mr. Morris White, and is listed as the laundress (there's a cook, too) and the head of the house, Mr. White, states Margaret was born in Mar 1859. Women typically lied about their age when seeking employment and were otherwise sensitive about their age as unmarried women. However, in 1910, Margaret is living at a Club House, employed as the housekeeper with another woman. The head of the Club House at 1104 Cross House, is a lawyer, Mr. Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey states that Margaret was born in 1857. I believe that Margaret's true date of birth was March 1857 based on these facts and that her younger sister, Mary, was born in November 1858. Also the earliest census records reflect Margaret's true age: the 1860 and 1870 US Census records of Mason City when she was living with her parents. I respectfully suggest that the year of birth on Margaret's grave marker is not accurate. There is no doubt that this is indeed the same Margaret Hart.
