He grew up in Govan attending school there before moving to Wilbur and graduating from Wilbur High School. After graduation and working around Wilbur for a while Jim joined the US Army in 1942 where he served as a Medical Tech. While in the military he married Margaret Sherwood on January 17, 1943 in Wilbur, WA. After being discharge from the military in 1946 they returned to Wilbur where Jim worked at the services station for a few years before purchasing the station himself. Jim owned and operated the Chevron gas station for several years before retiring in the early 1980's. After retiring, he continued to live in Wilbur until his death on April 17, 2009 in Grand Coulee, WA. Jim is survived by three children: Suzanne Krumsick of Boise, ID; Dr. Jim and Connie Harris, DDS of Wilbur, WA and Troy Harris of Medical Lake, WA. Jim also has five grandchildren and four great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim is preceded in death by his wife Margaret in 2005, daughter Ginny Harris in 2006 and twin sister Ruth Harris in 2007 and a brother Bob Harris in 1972 . Jim is a member of the Wilbur Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge and the Shriners, Wilbur VFW, Wilbur Golf and C.C. and was a charter member of the Wilbur Lions Club. Jim was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping and golfing but spending time with his family gave him the most joy for they were the love of his life. A Celebration of Life and Military Graveside Inurnment Service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilbur Cemetery, Wilbur, WA with Pastor Heather Jepsen, Officiating. Memorials may be made to Eastern State Hospital, %Friends of Eastern, POB 800 Medical Lake, WA 99022 or to the Wilbur Presbyterian Church or the Wilbur Ambulance.
