Description	:	Daughter of: Robert & Margaret Alston Miss Margaret Alston, 83, pioneer Linn county teacher and scenic painter hobbyist, died at Central City Saturday, July 6, 1940, after a brief illness. The body was taken to the Hatch Funeral Home. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was born May 16, 1857, at Davenport, the daughter of Robert and Margaret Alston. She attended Cornell college and Iowa State Teachers college. She taught almost 36 years, retiring about 1911 after serving the Central City school for 25 years. Burial was made in Mt Clark Cemetery.
