Description	:	YREKA – Margaret Angelee Preble, 89 year-old Yreka resident, passed away in Fairchild Medical Center on September 21, 2010, after complications following a surgery. Margaret was born in O'Neal, Arkansas on February 11, 1921 to Walter and Blanche Quearry. Margaret was the oldest of six children. She grew up in Batesville, Arkansas where she attended high school and later Lyon College. Read More	YREKA – Margaret Angelee Preble, 89 year-old Yreka resident, passed away in Fairchild Medical Center on September 21, 2010, after complications following a surgery. Margaret was born in O'Neal, Arkansas on February 11, 1921 to Walter and Blanche Quearry. Margaret was the oldest of six children. She grew up in Batesville, Arkansas where she attended high school and later Lyon College. During her third year in college, she decided to leave and join the Coast Guard in support of her country during WWII. While in the military, she met and married Stanley Preble. After serving their time in the Coast Guard, Stanley and Margaret moved to Sidney, Nebraska. They helped run the family grocery business until Stanley was killed in a car accident. Margaret moved to California and later to Raytown, Missouri where she spent most of her life. While in Raytown she worked at the Raytown Y.W.C.A. as a secretary for eleven years and worked at the Raytown Historical Society and Museum where she served as editor and publicity chairman for twenty two years. Throughout her years she enjoyed traveling, pheasant hunting, fishing, music, reading the Bible, working puzzles and being with family and friends. Late in life she became deaf after a surgery and relocated to Yreka to be near her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Cathie Preble of Yreka; sister-in-law, Rosemary Quearry of Raytown, Missouri; brother-in-law, C. Richard Kautz of Glen Ellen and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, her parents and siblings. Private interment with military honors will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Girdner Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
