Description	:	Margaret Ann McMullen, 39, Kearney, died Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Good Samaritan Hospital there after a lingering illness. Mrs. McMullen was born March 16, 1941, in Superior to Alfred and Irene Andersen. She grew up in this area and was a graduate of Superior High School. Mrs. McMullen was born March 16, 1941, in Superior to Alfred and Irene Andersen. She grew up in this area and was a graduate of Superior High School. She was also a graduate of Kearney State College, receiving her bachelor's and master's degrees there. Aug. 21, 1964, she married Andrew J. McMullen. At the time of her death, Mrs. McMullen was the executive director of Mid-Nebraska Community Services, Inc. She was also serving on the executive committee of the Region VII CAP Directors' Association and was past president of the Association of the Nebraska Community Action Agencies, a national committee member of the Consumer Affairs Advisory Committee for the Department of Energy and a member of the Social Work Advisory Committee from Kearney State College. She has also served as a member of the Campus House board of directors and as a state judge for the Miss Teen-age Pageant. Other memberships included the board of directors of the Central Nebraska Technical Community College, the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce, Kearney State College Alumni Association, National Rehabilitation Association, Association for Retarded Citizens, Nebraska Welfare Association, Kearney Drove 14 BPOE Does, National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs and Kearney League of Women Voters. Mrs. McMullen was instrumental in starting a number of programs and agencies, including the Head Start program, the first in the United States, the South Central Area Agency on Aging, the Western Legal Aid program, Weatherization program, WIC program and many others. Survivors include her husband, Andrew, Kearney; three stepsons, Jim of Kearney and Jack and Bill, North Hollywood, Calif., and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Andersen, Superior. Funeral services were Nov. 25 at Miller-Godberson Mortuary, Gibbon. The Rev. Ronald Ebb, pastor of First Lutheran Church, Kearney, officiated and burial was in Shelton Cemetery.
