Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jackson, Nebraska with Father Dan Wittrock officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in South Sioux City. Visitation with the family present will begin at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Margaret (Christensen) Cote was born as the only child to Pete and Lena (Engel) Christensen on October 17, 1917 at Schuyler, Nebraska. She graduated from St. Catherine's Academy in 1935 and taught schools in Dixon and Dakota County. She married Joseph Cote at St. Patrick's Church in Jackson on August 28, 1940. She served as president of the former Timber School, St. Patrick's Altar Society and Recording Secretary of Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jackson and the Royal Neighbors of America. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, crafts, reading and sewing. Survivors include three daughters, Donna Martin of Vinton, IA, Jeanne (John) Pullis of Sioux City, IA and Peggy (Tommy) Sims of St. Augustine, FL; three sons, Robert of Fremont, NE, Richard (Sue) of Valley Bend, W. VA and John (Sally) of El Mirage, AZ; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Lena Christensen, her husband, Joseph in 2008 and 3 grandchildren. Casket bearers will be grandchildren, Andrew Sims, John Pullis II, Ashton Pullis (great-grandson), Shane Polly, Jim Pullis, Jim Dutton and Jared Sampson. Honorary casket bearers are remaining grandchildren. We would like to thank Hospice of Siouxland for their tender loving care and support for Mom and our family during Mom's illness.
