Born in Chestertown, Md. on September 24, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Edward and Maggie Josephine Patrick Hurd. She was a 1955 graduate of Chestertown High School. Mrs. Connolley worked for Foxes Department Store. On September 24, 1955 she married Francis "Newkie" Connolley Jr., former Vice President of Printing for Chesapeake Publishing, they lived in Chestertown, Md. Born in Chestertown, Md. on September 24, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Edward and Maggie Josephine Patrick Hurd. She was a 1955 graduate of Chestertown High School. Mrs. Connolley worked for Foxes Department Store. On September 24, 1955 she married Francis "Newkie" Connolley Jr., former Vice President of Printing for Chesapeake Publishing, they lived in Chestertown, Md. Mrs. Connolley worked as a switchboard operator for a few years before retiring in 1959 to raise her family. She was a homemaker until 1977, after her children were raised, when she went to work as a bindery worker with Kent Printing until retiring in the 1990's. On February 11, 1995 her beloved husband of 39 years predeceased her. Mrs. Connolley enjoyed camping and playing cards. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was also a member of Worton United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son: Francis Micheal Connolley III of Chestertown, Md.; a daughter: Sandra Kay Connolley Payne of Cordova, Md.; two grandchildren: Megan Katharine Payne and Micheal Aaron Connolley; along with two sisters in law: Joan Connolley Dugas of Annapolis, Md. and Jo Ann Connolley of Chestertown, Md. Graveside services will be held on Sunday May 20, 2001 at 4:00 P.M. at Chester Cemetery Chestertown, Md. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Micheal Connolley Cancer Recovery Fund co Chestertown Bank of Maryland 803 Washington Ave. Chestertown, Md. 21620.
