She and her husband homesteaded at Ballantine, MT., ranched near Winnett and lived on a farm near Shepherd, MT., before to Billings, MT. in 1970. During the late 1940's and the early 1950's, she worked as a cook at the County Hospital and Rocky Mountain College. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Worden and was a Bitterroot Extension Club Mother. Mrs. McFarren, 93, died Monday in her home. She was born in Speedwell, TN., a daughter of Amos and Roxie Ann Johnson. She moved with the family to a homestead near Grass Range when she was 18. On July 4, 1917, she married Otto C. McFarren in Grass Range; he died in 1976. Survivors include two sons, Carl and Floyd, both of Billings, MT.; three daughters, Edith Hunter of Shepherd, MT., Evelyn Lile of Billings, and Ellen Wombolt of Billings; a sister, Doris Curtis of Seattle, WA.; 29 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Smith Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Billings, MT.
