Description	:	Ann Vogel, 85, of Oelwein passed away Wednesday August 28, 2019 at Arlington Place Assisted Living. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Monday September 2, 2019 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein, with a Parish Scripture Service beginning at 6:30 PM. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM on Tuesday September 3, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein. Margaret Ann Vogel was born September 11, 1933 in Frankfurt, KS to parents Leo and Marie (Culhan) Keating. Ann graduated from high school in Beattie, KS with the class of 1951. She then moved to Omaha, NE where she met John Vogel at Creighton University. They were united in marriage on July 6, 1957 at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Beattie, KS. Together they raised six children. Ann enjoyed volunteering her time to many organizations, especially Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Meals On Wheels for 35 years. She enjoyed cooking and always had extra meals and desserts in the freezer just in case someone stopped by. Left to celebrate Ann’s life are her children: Matthew (Debbie) Vogel of Oelwein, Daniel Vogel of Oelwein, Michael (Tammy) Vogel of Horseshoe Bay, TX, and Karen (Pat) Simpson of Oelwein; her brothers: Joe Keating of Hutchinson, KS and Mick (Jane) Keating of Marysville, KS; her sisters: Jeanie (Jerry) Nordhus of Shawnee, KS, Pat (Norm) Micheletti of Blue Springs, MO and Rose Marie (Jim) Keating of Albuquerque, NM; her sisters-in-law: Geraldine Keating of Albuquerque, NM and Eileen Splinter of Camarillo, CA; her brother-in-law Rich (Mary) Vogel of Independence; her grandchildren: Misty (Keith) Phillips, Kyle (Lynnsey) Jepsen, Tara (Sergio) Holguin, Megan (Nick)Timm, Tyler Vogel, Samantha Vogel, Marissa Simpson and Brent Simpson; her seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; her sons Paul and David Vogel; her brother Louis Keating; her sisters: Mary Ellen Sinclair and Rita Samuelson.
