Description	:	Margaret Schane Graeff passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at the age of 86. Margaret was born in Dallas, Oregon and raised in Vancouver, Washington. Margaret graduated from Stevenson High School in 1938 and was the 1939 "Miss Columbia Gorge". She married Bob Graeff in 1941 and they were married for 53 years. Margaret worked as an Eng. Secretary with the Navy Dept., in Yorktown, Virginia, during World War II while Bob was stationed with the U.S. Navy. They resided in Williamsburg, Virginia. Margaret was born in Dallas, Oregon and raised in Vancouver, Washington. Margaret graduated from Stevenson High School in 1938 and was the 1939 "Miss Columbia Gorge". She married Bob Graeff in 1941 and they were married for 53 years. Margaret worked as an Eng. Secretary with the Navy Dept., in Yorktown, Virginia, during World War II while Bob was stationed with the U.S. Navy. They resided in Williamsburg, Virginia. She resided and lived most of her life in Vancouver. Margaret studied Pipe Organ at the University of Oregon for four years. She was an accomplished Pipe Organist and served as church organist for First Methodist Church and later retired serving 13 years as Staff Organist at the historic Fort Vancouver Barnes Regional Chapel for the Veterans Administration in Vancouver. Margaret taught Piano and Organ for several years. She is survived by her three sons, Michael Graeff of Vancouver, William Graeff of Bellevue, Wash., Richard Graeff of the Dalles, Ore., and seven grandchildren, Josh and Amy Graeff, Jason, Geoff and Jennifer Graeff, Nick and Tyler Graeff. Margaret was preceded in death by brother, Arthur; husband, Robert; Father and Mother, Richard and Anna Schane; stepmother, Ruth Allen Schane, and grandparents, Christian and Pauline Schane and Alex and Anna Maltman. She was a member of First Methodist Church, American Guild of Organists, National Music Teachers Assn., The Clan Campbell Society and Daughters of the Nile. The family would like to thank Dr. Tim Ross, MD, Sofia Filip, RN and Hospice SW for the kind and loving care they provided our mother. Services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver at 10:00am, April 6, 2007. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Shriners Children Hospital, Portland, Oregon.
