The daughter of Clayborne and Grace (Draa) Pettit, she was born July 21, 1920, in Plymouth Township. She married her husband, Wayne R. Loyd Sr. on Dec. 25, 1937, and together they celebrated forty-six years of marriage before his death. Margaret was a twenty year employee of Rockwell Plastics. The daughter of Clayborne and Grace (Draa) Pettit, she was born July 21, 1920, in Plymouth Township. She married her husband, Wayne R. Loyd Sr. on Dec. 25, 1937, and together they celebrated forty-six years of marriage before his death. Margaret was a twenty year employee of Rockwell Plastics. She attended Plymouth Community United Methodist Church. Margaret enjoyed life to its fullest. She bowled on several leagues and enjoyed playing cards with her husband and his parents. She could often be found working in her garden. When her sons were younger, she could be seen playing tackle football, never one to be afraid of a little healthy competition. A wonderful cook and baker she will be fondly remembered for her pies. She often baked and sold pies to local restaurants for many years. The children remember going to Christmas Eve services at church with their parents and then going to home to the traditional Christmas Eve parties. A wonderful mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, she will be missed for her wonderful sense of humor and warm and wise ways. She is survived by her children, Wayne R. Loyd Jr., of North Kingsville, Larry Loyd of Ashtabula, Clayborne (Donna) Loyd of Canal Winchester, Jeffrey Loyd of Geneva and Sandra (Lee) Randolph of Ashtabula; her sister, Dorothy Bowes of Youngstown; 25 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne R. Loyd Sr. in 1982; son, Timothy Loyd in 1996; grandson, Scott G. Loyd in 1973; and her parents. Services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19th, at Plymouth Community United Methodist Church, 970 Plymouth Road, with the Rev. Johnnie Swann, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula is in charge of arrangements.
