Read More	**************************************** Berneice Mahrt, 102 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Premier Estates in Fremont. Berneice was born on May 7, 1915 to Chester "Joe" and Margaret (Farris) Sweet in Cedar Bluffs, NE. She was raised on a farm near Cedar Bluffs and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Falls City, NE. On January 5, 1939, she married Bernhard F. Mahrt at Gretna, NE. After marriage, the couple lived on a farm near Prague, NE from the early 1940's to the mid 1960's. Berneice worked at Blue Star Foods in Wahoo, NE, until moving to Fremont, where she worked at Schweser's. Berneice loved to tend to her roses in the garden, make apple and rhubarb pies, and everyone wanted her rice crispy treats. She enjoyed watching game shows including: Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was always ready for a game of pitch. Berneice made lots of memories with her daughters when making trips to Branson. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. She is survived by her son, Bruce (Eileen) Mahrt of Elkhorn, NE; daughters, Roseanne Ibsen of Fremont, and Karen (Gary) Carne of Fremont; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 28 great-great-grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Geraldine Lovelace; sisters, Mable Sweet, Maxine Erlenbusch, and Georgiann Petersen; brothers, Lawrence Sweet, Thomas "Kelly" Sweet; and granddaughter, Denise Jacobs. Memorial Service will be 9:30 A.M., Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Deacon Kevin Fuller will officiate. Private interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to the Fremont Area Alzheimer's Fund. (mosermemorialchapel.com/obituary)
