When but 5 years of age she was brought to this country by her parents, and landed at New Orleans in the year 1833. There she lived with her parents until July 9th, 1847, when she was married to Frederick VonSeggen, and moved to Van Buren County, and settled on a farm about 3 miles west of Farmington. FREDERICK VONSEGGEN 1914 b. 20 Nov. 1828 d. 19 Nov. 1914 Handwritten in margin: INCOMPLETE (Obituary) . . . . months and 9 days. When but 5 years of age she was brought to this country by her parents, and landed at New Orleans in the year 1833. There she lived with her parents until July 9th, 1847, when she was married to Frederick VonSeggen, and moved to Van Buren County, and settled on a farm about 3 miles west of Farmington. They resided on the farm ever since until about 3 years ago when they came to make their home with their son Frederick, with who they resided until called their eternal home. To this union were born twelve children, seven sons and five daughters. She has been preceded in death by one son, one daughter andd her husband who died only 8 months ago at the ripe old age of 95. Mother VonSeggen was converted when but a child and united with the German speaking branch of the Methodist Episcopal Church and lived a constant, consecrated, devoted and holy life ever since. She leaves to mourn her departure, ten children: Charles, Edward, Frederick, George and Lydia VonSeggen, Mrs. Alice White, and Mrs. Emma Delker of Farmington, John VonSeggen, Bonaparte, Mrs. Louisa Tillman, Wapello, Iowa, and T.W. VonSeggen, Browning, Mo. Besides the children, she leaves twenty grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. xxx Source: Van Buren Co.
