The Rev. Fr. James Chappell officiated at the services. Margaret Aitchison of Monticello died at her home February 4, following a sudden illness. Margaret Buol was born Feb 8, 1895 in Richland Township, Jones County, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Mary Hein Buol. She received her education in the rural schools near her home. Margaret Buol and Clare Aitchison were married Feb. 2, 1921 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Lovell Township where they farmed. Clare preceded her in death in May 1981. Margaret was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Little Flower Study Club. She was a longtime member of The American Legion Auxiliary. Margaret is survived by a son, William Aitchison of Monticello; two daughters, Mary Jane Freese of Monticello and Lorraine Husmann of Scotch Grove; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ben Buol and William Buol; and two sisters, Edna Buol and Martha Serbousek, all of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister and seven brothers. Casketbearers were Jeff Aitchison, Jim Aitchison, Joe Aitchison, John Aitchison, Brad Freese and Terry Goldbeck. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, was in charge of the arrangements.
