She was born near Zanzeville, Ohio, Mar. 30, 1840 and emmigrated to Iowa with her parents, Robert and Nancy Campbell in 1849. She was born near Zanzeville, Ohio, Mar. 30, 1840 and emmigrated to Iowa with her parents, Robert and Nancy Campbell in 1849. In 1868, she united in marriage with Thomas Barkley who died about three and one half years later leaving the widow and two small children. She resided in Moulton, Iowa, about fifteen years and near Cincinnati, Iowa, about 10 until recently when she moved to Davis county with her son, James and Robert of Des Moines. She is survived by her two sons and Samuel E. of Pulaski, Davis County, Iowa. During most of her life, she was a member of the M. E. church. A consistant Christian mother, she died in the faith and in full and unimpaired faculties of mind, conscious almost to the last. She was buried in Johnson cemetery, in Davis county, by the side of the husband whom she has mourned nearly fifty years. Grandma will be remembered by a host of old Moulton friends as a woman of lovable character and story intellect.
