Description	:	Margaretha Catherina Schildt, nee Tobaben, was born October 1, 1865 at Hollenbeck, Hanover, Germany and passed away August 28, 1923 at her home north of Pleasant Dale, where she had lived for forty years. Cause of her death was cancer of the stomach. Her age was 57 years, 10 months and 27 days. She came to this country in September 1883 and on the 31st day of January 1884 she was united in marriage to Mr. August J. Ph. Schildt. Five sons and two daughters were born to this union. Read More	Margaretha Catherina Schildt, nee Tobaben, was born October 1, 1865 at Hollenbeck, Hanover, Germany and passed away August 28, 1923 at her home north of Pleasant Dale, where she had lived for forty years. Cause of her death was cancer of the stomach. Her age was 57 years, 10 months and 27 days. She came to this country in September 1883 and on the 31st day of January 1884 she was united in marriage to Mr. August J. Ph. Schildt. Five sons and two daughters were born to this union. Her husband died July 19, 1905, leaving her a widow with a family of small children. For two years and a half her brother Henry had been a great help to her in keeping up the home; since then she has managed the farm to her credit with the aid of her children. Mrs. Schildt had been baptized and confirmed in the old country, here she was a faithful member of Immanuel's Ev. Lutheran church, confessing and trusting in Jesus as her Savior unto the end. A loving and beloved mother has now passed away. The mourners are: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schildt, Lincoln, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schildt, Pleasant Dale, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schildt, Milford, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schildt, Seward, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. August Schildt, Pleasant Dale, Nebr.; and Mrs. William Brandt, Sabin, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. F. Schmale, Malcolm, Nebr.; and 20 grandchildren. One brother, Henry Tobaben, Seward, Nebr.; three sisters, Mrs. Louis Prigge, Winona, Minn.; Mrs. Peter Ficken, Pleasant Dale, Nebr.; and Mrs. Francis Couture, Lincoln, Nebr. Funeral services were held August 31st at the house and the church and interment was made at the Stone church cemetery. Seward Journal, Seward, NE, Thurs, September 6, 1923
