Margaret, daughter of John and Mollie (Miller) Nelson, was born June 20, 1917, at Omaha, Nebraska. Margaret was active in school and church activities. After graduating from Omaha Techinal (NE.) High School, she attended Midlands College, Fremont, Nebraska. Margaret worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and supported the U.S. Military during World War II, making many lifetime friends. On November 8, 1947, she married Stanley F. Kocian at Holy Ghost Church, Omaha, Nebraska. Due to Stanley's employment, they lived in many different locations, but in 1960, they purchased a farm near Spencer, Nebraska, where they lived following Stanley's retirement from the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. In 2006, Margaret moved from her home in Spencer, Nebraska to Countryview Manor, Butte, Nebraska. Margaret was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Spencer, Nebraska and Altar Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, the Happy Homemaker's Club and several other organizations. Margaret enjoyed reading, sewing, doing crossword puzzles, and going to garage sales with her friends. Margaret is survived by: children, Michael (Terri) Kocian of Billings, Montana, David (Doris) Kocian of Butte, Nebraska, Evelyn (Barry) Loock of Lincoln, Nebraska, Thomas (Andrea) Kocian of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Donald (Kathy) Kocian of Springfield, Missouri, Larry Kocian of Bristow, Nebraska, Ed Kocian of Spencer, Nebraska and Robert Kocian of Spencer, Nebraska; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by: husband, Stanley F. Kocian; grandson, Danial Kocian; daughters-in-law, Kathi & Jennifer; granddaughter-in-law, Dee; parents and three brothers, John, Howard and Theodore Nelson. Burial was in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Spencer, Nebraska.
