TEXT OF OBITUARY: (March 10, 1990) Margaret Cudd UNION--Margaret Cudd, of 109 Merriman Ave., died March 9, 1990, in Wallace Thomson Hospital. She was the daughter of the late William Scove and Mary Alma Painter Cudd. She attended First Baptist Church of Union. A graduate of the Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., she was a registered nurse. She attended Limestone College, The University of Maryland, receioved a bachelor of science degree at Emory University in Atlanta and received her master of nursing degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was the former director of nurses at Spartanburg General Hospital and at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C. Miss Cudd was a captain in the U.S. Army Nurses Corp during the Korean Conflict and was present at the exchange of prisoners at Freedom Village. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. E.D. Whaley Sr. and Mrs. Carl B. Doty of Union. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Allen Raines. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Whaley Sr., 109 Merriman Ave., Union. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Union County Cancer Services, P.O. Drawer 769, Union, 29379. S. R. Holcombe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
