She was the daughter of the late John J. and Geneva Martin and the widow of James Boyd Cudd. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Cudd Addington (Charles) of Gaffney and Cynthia Cudd Sellars of Lexington, SC and two sons, Michael L. Cudd (Shari) of Spartanburg and James M. Cudd (Arminta) of Gaffney. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Robbins and Vivian Jolley. Her surviving sisters are Doris Bryant of Indian Land, Bonita Hill Campbell of Spartanburg and brother, Joe Martin of Gaffney. She has nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church where she served in many capacities over the years, mentoring children in the primary department. Previously she sang in the church choir and with the Amazing Grace Singers. In the 1930's she was often heard singing on the radio with the Martin Trio. She worked for over fifty years in her husband's and daughter's accounting practices. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 in the Chapel at Blakely Funeral Home, Gaffney, SC with Dr. Clyde Thomas officiating. The family would like to greet friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the memorial service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1449, Gaffney, SC 29342. The family is at the home of Jim Cudd, 102 E. Nott Street, Gaffney, SC. An online guest register is available at www.blakelyfuneralhome.com.
