Description	:	Margaret Edith Perkins lost her battle with cancer and passed away on July 14, 2018 at the age of 68. She was born on June 12, 1950 in Leon, Iowa to Paul Duane Perkins and Lois Helen Rice Perkins. She moved to a farm west of Clio in 1957. Margaret lived on the family farm until her death. Read More	Margaret Edith Perkins lost her battle with cancer and passed away on July 14, 2018 at the age of 68. She was born on June 12, 1950 in Leon, Iowa to Paul Duane Perkins and Lois Helen Rice Perkins. She moved to a farm west of Clio in 1957. Margaret lived on the family farm until her death. Margaret attended school in Clio and Allerton and graduated from Lineville High School in 1968. Over the years, she worked at the Clio Post Office, the Hardware Store and the Clio Library. She enjoyed riding horses, farming and raising cattle. When it came to raising cattle, she fed them well and grieved over the old ones that had to be sold. After the loss of her parents and her Uncle Cleva, she continued to manage the family farm. She loved all animals, especially cats and dogs. No stray cat was a stranger to her. She fed all of them and they became part of her family. She had many beloved pets over the years. Margaret helped with the Clio Saddle Club and the Clio Fall Festival. Margaret and Charlie had a great time getting everyone in line for the Clio Festival parade. Margaret enjoyed playing the piano. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clio, Iowa where she played piano and sang. She sang at many funerals over the years. Margaret was known for her melt in the mouth lemon meringue pie. Margaret took her pie to the monthly church dinners and to many funeral lunches. She also enjoyed reading mystery books. Margaret fought her cancer with determination. She drove back and forth to Des Moines for months of treatments. She was still fighting right until the end. Margaret was very blessed to have such close friends to help her when she was too weak to drive to Des Moines. Margaret leaves behind a host of cousins and friends. She will be missed by her beloved cat, Scoochie. She was preceded in death by her parents and Uncle Cleva. Margaret says “Don’t grieve for me. I am looking forward to seeing my loving family, my parents and Cleva in heaven. I’ve missed them so much and for such a long time.”
