Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 29 at St. Malachy's Catholic Church. Father Quentin Schmitz will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Beattie. Elaine was born July 11, 1930, to John and Aloyse (Fitzgerald) O'Neil. She graduated Beattie High School and earned a teaching certificate from Kansas State University. On August 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Bernard "Barney" Schneider at St. Malachy's Catholic Church. They had been married 69 years, when Barney died January 4, 2020. Elaine was a career wife and mother. She always believed she had the cutest grandchildren ever and her great grandchildren continued the tradition. She was preceded in death by her husband; a toddler son, Gary in 1958; daughter, Teresa Gentuso in 2018; and brother, Dennis O'Neil. Survivors include five children, Nancy (Russell) Reinert, Hutchinson, Sandi Smith, Lenexa, Jay (Brenda) Schneider, Beattie, Dan (Kristy) Schneider, Longmont, CO, and Barb (Ken) Kickhaefer, Marysville; son-in-law, Vince Gentuso, Hot Springs Village, AR; sister, Marilyn (Larry) Bolton, Hutchinson; and seventeen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren. A memorial fund is established to St. Gregory's Catholic School or St. Malachy's Church Renovation. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
