Description	:	Margaret Wageman June 24, 1927 - October 24, 2014 BIOGRAPHY Margaret Elizabeth Wageman, daughter of Henry and Anna (Walters) Schmieding, was born on June 24, 1927 in Panama, Iowa, where she was baptized at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church. She was later confirmed at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap, Iowa. Margaret came to be known as "Boots" since her childhood. Read More	Margaret Wageman June 24, 1927 - October 24, 2014 BIOGRAPHY Margaret Elizabeth Wageman, daughter of Henry and Anna (Walters) Schmieding, was born on June 24, 1927 in Panama, Iowa, where she was baptized at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church. She was later confirmed at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap, Iowa. Margaret came to be known as "Boots" since her childhood. While attending country school through the 8th grade, Boots also helped on the family farm. On April 24, 1948, Boots was united in marriage Bill McDonald, son of Ward and Susie McDonald. Two sons, Gary and Larry, were born to this union. They lived in Dunlap where Bill owned and operated McDonald Construction. After Bill's death, Boots worked in Omaha until 1982 when she married Elmer Wageman and moved to their home in Defiance, Iowa where they were members of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Boots enjoyed bingo, cooking, dancing and trips to Vegas. Boots died on October 24, 2014, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa having attained the age of eighty-seven years and four months. In addition to her parents, Boots was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill, great-grandson Tyler, great-granddaughter Sarah Bryhan, sisters Anna Marie Arkfeld, Lucille Michalski and Marita Andersen. She is survived by her husband Elmer Wageman of Harlan; her sons Gary McDonald and his wife Chris of Lake View, Iowa, and Larry McDonald and his special friend Judy of Denison, Iowa; seven grand children; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister Betty and her husband Carroll Cox of Council Bluffs, Iowa; her brother Henry Schmieding, Jr. of Omaha, NE; brother-in -law Harvey Andersen of Ralston, NE; stepchildren Don Wageman and his wife Rose of Earling, Iowa, Linda and her husband Ken Bruck of Harlan, Iowa, Rose and her husband Matt Koesters of Harlan, Iowa, Kathleen and her husband Ken McCown of Lincoln, NE; fourteen step-grandchildren; twenty-five step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * KJAN MARGARET ELIZABETH WAGEMAN, 97, of Defiance (Svcs. 10/27/14) OBITUARIES October 24th, 2014 by Mark Saylor Margaret Elizabeth Wageman of Defiance,97, died Friday at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan. Mass of the Christian Burial for Margaret Wageman will be 10-30 Monday at St Peters Catholic Church in Defiance. Pauley Jones Funeral Home of Harlan has the arrangements. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 5 until 9pm and a wake service at 7pm, Sunday evening and with the family will greet friends from 6 until 8pm. Burial will be at the Dunlap Cemetery in Dunlap. Margaret passed away Friday, October 24th at the Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan. Survivors include: her husband Elmer Wageman of Defiance; 2 sons Gary (Chris) McDonald of Lake View, Larry (special friend Judy) McDonald of Denison; 1 brother, 1 sister, 3 step-daughters, and 1 step-son; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, 25 step-great-grandchildren.
