Hanley The funeral of the late Mrs Wm C Hanley, who death occurred on Wednesday of last week, was held on Friday afternoon, from the home of her son, Mr Charles Hanley, 8th line of Artemesia. Mr F B Keys, pastor of the Baptist Church, conducted the service. Internment was made in the Maxwell Cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. Alex Cameron, Charles Hopper, W J Chard, James Porteous, Garnet Magee and Sam Phillips. The flower bearers were four grandsons, Bill, Bryce and Ben Hanley and George Akitt. Among the many beautiful floral offerings of sympathy were sprays from the Rock Mills Ladies’ Aid, the Rock Mills Baptist Church and the neighbours. The late Mrs Hanley was born in the township of Clark in 1863, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Carson, and came to this district when she was 17 years of age with her brother John Carson. As a girl she was an adherent of the Presbyterian Church and during recent years was a member of Rock Mills Baptist Church and was always interested in Christian work. In 1883 she married Wm Hanley and they resided on the 8th line of Artemesia for many years, until his death, when she then made her home with her son Charles. There remain to mourn the loss of a kind and thoughtful mother, three daughters and one son, Mrs A O Findlay of Fort William, Mrs C R Wilson of St Catharines, Mrs Walter Akitt of Rock Mills and Charles, at home. She also leaves one brother Charles Carson of Kendel. CARD OF THANKS – We wish to express our appreciation and gratitude for the many kind expressions of sympathy, for the beautiful flowers and letters received in our bereavement in the death of our mother, Mrs W C Henley, and also for the treats and enquires made during her illness – Son and Daughters.
