Woodland Ave., died at 4:17 a.m. Feb. 14, 1995, at Monroe Care Center in Albia. She was born Oct. 21, 1911, in Wapello County to Clyde and Beaulah [sic] Fisher Burkman. She married Leonard Vernon Bigham Sr., on June 10, 1934, in Ottumwa. He died March 31, 1990. She was a graduate of Iowa Success School and worked for a long time at S.S. Kresge Co. She lived all of her life in Ottumwa. She is survived by a son, Leonard Vernon Jr. of Ottumwa; a daughter, Bobbi Forbes of Ottumwa; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Fulton, and a grandson, Shawn Forbes. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Mel Kendall of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will be open after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home. Family visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the staff at the Monroe Care Center or Calvary Baptist Church.
