Description	:	Miss Maggie E. Nelson was born February 9, 1872 at the old homestead of Mr. and Mrs. David H. Nelson 7 miles southwest of Burlington. She departed this life October 26, 1926, aged 54 years, 8 months and 15 days. In 1886 she was united in marriage to Mr. Samuel Cokeley. To this union five children were born. She is survived by her husband, Samuel Cokeley, three daughters, Mrs. Nora Stone of Burlington, Mrs. Gertie Iseman of Lichveld, Nebr., Mrs. Lois Fairchild of Burlington and one son Samuel J. Cokeley, living southwest of Burlington. She also leaves to mourn her departure two brothers and 1 sister: Mrs. Nora Harreld of Spring Hill, Kans., Wm. Nelson of LeRoy and C.E. Nelson of Kansas City, Mo. In young womanhood she accepted Christ as her redeemer and united with the United Brethren church at Crandall. Later in life she transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal Church at Crotty, where it remained at the time of her death. Her unfaltering trust in Christ and her true devotion to her King, has transformed her life into one of beauty, which will live on to cheer and brighten the pathway of many others. --- MANY FRIENDS ATTEND MRS. COKELEYS FUNERAL The funeral of Mrs. Sam Cokeley was held at the Christian church in Burlington Friday afternoon in charge of Rev. W. C. Melendy, pastor of the church. The church was filled to overflowing with sympathizing friends and neighbors and there were many beautiful floral offerings. The music was furnished by Mrs. John Shobe, Mrs. E. E. Brott, C. G. Combs and Z. H. Held, who sang, "Since Jesus Came Into My Heart," "Shall We Gather at the River" and "God Will Take Care of You." Miss Ruth Epting accompanied them. The sermon by Rev. Mr. Melendy was full of comfort and cheer to the bereaved ones. Interment was in the Big Creek Presbyterian cemetery, and many of the friends accompanied the body to its last resting place, and other friends who could not come to Burlington for the service at the church were at the cemetery to pay their tribute of respect there. The pall bearers were Mesdames Chas. W. May, T. B. Cobb, W. E. Hamilton, J. C. McCallon, A. L. Boyer and Ivy Allen.
