Description	:	Margaret Esther Kegan, 73, died at St. Joseph's Hospital Monday afternoon after a brief illness. She was born February 4, 1892 in Holly Springs, Iowa, and moved with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charley H. Howe to Nebraska at the age of eight, where she received her schooling. She taught school two years near Cody, Nebraska, and then went to college at York, Nebraska. She married Lawrence Clyde Kauth there December 27, 1911. Read More	Margaret Esther Kegan, 73, died at St. Joseph's Hospital Monday afternoon after a brief illness. She was born February 4, 1892 in Holly Springs, Iowa, and moved with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charley H. Howe to Nebraska at the age of eight, where she received her schooling. She taught school two years near Cody, Nebraska, and then went to college at York, Nebraska. She married Lawrence Clyde Kauth there December 27, 1911. In 1914 the couple took a homestead 22 miles east of Roy and lived there until 1933 when they moved to Roy. Mrs. Kauth bought a restaurant and hotel in Roy in 1940 and operated it until June, 1943 when she moved to Anchorage, Alaska. She married Murray A. Cottrell, August 10, 1943 in Alaska. The couple operated a well-drilling rig in the Roy vicinity until 1955. Cottrell died August 3, 1955. Mrs. Cottrell married Virgil W. Kegen, December 27, 1957 and had lived in Lewistown since then. She was a member of Waverly Presbyterian Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. Besides her Widower she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Woodiwiss, Mrs. Ava Zahn, Mrs. Lucille Komarek, Roy and Mrs. Edythe Oquist of Seattle, Washington; three sisters, Mrs. Ava Bainard, Malaga, Washington, Mrs. Edna Dunn, Oakland, California, and Mrs. Francis Williams, Seattle, Washington; a brother Gig Harbor, Washington, 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be from the Creel-Gurnett-Retz Chapel, Thursday at 3:30 pm with the Rev. G. Loren Jones, officiating.Interment will be in the Lewistown City Cemetery, Lewistown, MT.
