Read More	Eden's Funeral Home - obit excerpts Margaret Irene (Horsburgh) Furman, beloved wife of the late James Charles Furman, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Fort Macleod Extendicare at the age of 97 years. Margaret was born in Fort Macleod in 1921 to Margaret and Robert Horsburgh. She grew up on a farm south of Fort Macleod and attended Macleod and Allenfield schools. She enjoyed the town life over country living and often stayed with her grandparents. Margaret worked in the Palomino and Reach and Company stores. She worked for 41 years and retired when Reach and Co. closed down. Since retiring Margaret found more time for coffee parties, friends and her grandchildren. She also kept busy as a lifetime member in the Ladies Legion Auxiliary of the Fort Macleod Branch No. 46 where she held various executive positions. Margaret was an avid traveller and has gone on many trips with friends and family to England, Hawaii, Italy, on cruises, and bus tours. A few highlights for Margaret were going to Calgary to see Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip in 1967, visiting Graceland as Elvis was her favourite singer, and travelling to Italy with her daughter Jerry and granddaughter Linda for a tour of cemeteries where many Canadian soldiers were buried. Margaret moved into two different lodges and was currently living at Extendicare where she enjoyed the special care and concern provided by the staff. Margaret also enjoyed activities with the residents and visits from her family and friends.
