Description	:	Mrs. Margaret Hanish, 96, of Laurens passed away at the Good Samaritan Home in Laurens on Monday evening, Feburary 18, 1985. Funeral services are pending at the Smith Funeral Home. Margaret Lynch Hanish was born on February 7, 1889 to Edward Francis and Nora Gill Lynch on a farm southeast of Laurens. She attended rural schools in that area. She was united in marriage to William J; Hanish on October 12, 1909 in Saint Columbkille Catholic Church in Varina. Margaret Lynch Hanish was born on February 7, 1889 to Edward Francis and Nora Gill Lynch on a farm southeast of Laurens. She attended rural schools in that area. She was united in marriage to William J; Hanish on October 12, 1909 in Saint Columbkille Catholic Church in Varina. They began their married life at Chugwater,Wyo., where they homesteaded on a tract of land. Later they sold their claim and moved back to farming south of Laurens. In 1919 they moved to a farm at Plover. In 1951 they purchased an acreage on the northeast edge of Havelock and had prepared to settle for their retirement years. On October 6, 1957, her husband passed away. Margaret continued to live on their acreage until February 2, 1972 when she entered the Good Samaritan Home in Laurens. She was a member of the Laurens Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Rosary Society. Survivors include her children, Ray Hanish of Pocahontas, Nora, Mrs. Paul Amick of Fort Dodge, Leo Hanish and Viola, Mrs. Dick Martin of Laurens, one sister, Mrs. Florence Hurley who also resides at the Laurens Good Samaritan Home. She has 22 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, three brothers and a great-granddaughter.
